Name: Master Aran Cuthilion
Age: 53
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Faction: Holy order of Jedi
Rank: Master/ Guardian
Appearance:
Aran is a very tall individual, standing at 6'6, and also considerably built. Weighing in at 220 lbs. He is made almost entirely of toned muscle and calloused skin. The latter feature that is mentioned only relates to the outside of his body however. Which has clearly seen some wear and tear. Aran commonly radiates and arua of intimidation. With his massive height and strong build. As well as an unwavering and penetrating gaze. Combined with his scar which runs along the bridge of his nose, and weathered features, it is obvious to the world that he is a very experienced man and no stranger to the harshness that can be found in the wide universe. Aran’s face is also bearded, which helps to add to his wizened appearance. This facial hair is grown out in full all around his lips. Sporting a thick beard along the chin, and a full mustache, both meeting together around the lips but going no further along his face which is well maintained. Various parts of this beard are colored grey with age. Giving what people would call a salt and pepper look to it. The hair on Aran's head stops at about mid forehead. Then around the sides of his head ends at his ears. In the back it falls to about his mid neck. His sideburns on the side of his head as well as various other small locks. Are also a grey color.
His clothes consist of a white vestment covering his torso, interrupted by a brown cloth encircling his stomach used to keep the white over shirt in place. Along his waist is an impressive belt, Being made stern, yet flexible. Made to hold up to three lightsabers, though most of the time only sports two. A water canteen, a communicator, and two pouches for various small materials. The small materials in his belt are most of the time seasonings, and spices for food. His pants are a brown fabric, and also flexible and yet durable. Even comfortable. They reach down to his ankles which are adorned with a pair of black boots, made of hardened leather. Scuffed and worn a bit. But almost always looking maintained, like everything else about him. He wears over all of this, a plain brown cloak. Which comes equipped with a hood, and sleeves. This type of cloak is commonly donned by many Jedi. Like all of his equipment. It appears, functional, well maintained, and excellent in it’s making. But nothing fancy. The last accessory to accompany him is a pair of brown gloves made of flexible and soft leather. Yet still built to be able to go through a good deal of punishment. Along his back will also be a brown cloak. Plain in it's make, but it has a hood.
Weaponry:
Aran’s weaponry consists of two lightsabers.
The first one is an elegantly designed lightsaber.
Lightsaber number one: Has a metallic looking lightsaber handle being 33in with a handle that sports many glowing blue lines coming across from the side of it. As well as various nobs which can be turned to adjust the intensity and blade length of the lightsaber. This lightsaber has two crystals inside of it. One of them is a Rubat crystal, the other is a durindfire gem. The blade length of this lightsaber varies from two to three feet. Being adjustable. The coloration of this saber is an intense blueish silver. The blade is also very defined, and sharp in it's appearance thanks to the Rubat crystal inside of the handle's shaft. This helps the wielder of the blade keep track of his weapon and make more precise strikes. This blade has been modified so that it can be used under water. To do this it has been given a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse. It is no surprise that this blade is Master Aran's prized possession. Having been slowly adding these bits and pieces to it over the years until just recently he succeeded in gaining all of the parts that he required for it's make. This blade is perfect for Aran's Shii-Cho fighting style. It also works well with his more defensive Shien stance, against lightsabers.
The second lightsaber is by far an older one. In fact the he had been using during the Mandalorian wars, and the one he gained for becoming a knight. It's hand is a thick looking silver circle starting from the top where the blade sprouts from. Going down lower the handle becomes a thin looking copper connection to the black colored metal which is covered all along itself in round circles designed to give the wielder a better grip on his weapon. Below that is a thicker chamber in his handle holding his lightsaber crystals. At first being silver, then turning black for nearly an inch. And finally reverting to silver again as it ends. The blade length is about two to three and a half feet. It is very wide at the beginning but thins out extremely towards the end. The width of this blade and it's length is explained by the blue Damind crystal inside of it. This blade is very useful when being used in a more aggressive Makashi style, or when being used with Shien to defend against lightsabers.
Skills:
Piloting: Aran is a decent pilot, specializing in lighter and smaller aircraft. Preferring only to pilot a single seated craft. Like individual fighters. Which he is considered above average in piloting. Or crafts designed to carry only a small amount of people/cargo. Larger crafts are not his specialty as he is not very well versed in their mechanics, but if forced to. He could probably make do.
Violin: In an attempt to teach himself discipline and the ability to learn something new to him, and to partly just get out of his comfort zone. While he was a padawan he pushed himself to learn the Violin. Which can now play proficiently and sweetly. in fact while playing it. He falls into a familiar trance like state. In which he simply allows his mind to shut down and his hands to work almost of their own free will. While he will never admit that he is struggling with something. Be it either sadness or anger. The tunes of his notes will either be peaceful to try and calm himself. Or in the case of him feeling down. He will release that emotion through his music.
Aran is also an accomplished survivor of the wilds. Having camped out on hostile territory many times during the mandalorian war. He was forced to learn how to create camouflage, cook over a fire. Purify water, and build shelter. These skills have also traversed into his daily life, and now he is an accomplished cook in his own right. Having gotten horribly sick of the scraps he had to eat during the war. He decided that while even though gorging oneself on fine foods would be over the top for the Jedi. Having the food that you do have taste as good as it possibly can is just plain smart. So he made an effort to improve his culinary skills and can now brew drinks and fix simple meals without issue. These simple meals mixed with the various spices he has on him come out tasting pretty good for what they are.
Aran has is also extremely accomplished in lightsaber fighting. His styles being.
Shii-Cho: (Mastered)
Shien: (Mastered)
Makashi: (Mastered)
All other forms available to Jedi: Studied, but not accomplished in.
Aran has many force powers which he can also utilize when he needs to.
Stun Droid: (*) This power causes a small short-circuiting that directs power through the droids processors disabling them for a handful of seconds.
Force Pull: (*) Allows the user to pull objects from a distance towards themselves. More advanced users can pull larger objects from greater distance.
Prerequisite: Telekinesis
Force Push: (*) This power allowed the user to push objects away from themselves. More advanced users can push larger objects to a greater distance.
Prerequisite: Telekinesis
Precognition: (*) found in nearly all Force Sensitives it allowed the user to seemingly sense changes in the environment around them. For many this power was subconscious and always active.
Battle Precognition: (*) A more advanced form of Precognition. It allowed the user to essentially sense their opponent’s next movement during battle.
Prerequisite: Precognition
Telekinesis: (*) A power that was natural for most Force sensitives. It allowed the user to pick up an item through the Force and move it as they saw fit. Stronger users could pick up larger objects from longer distances and hold them suspended for longer durations.
Force Blinding: (**) Upon use of this technique a blinding flash of light emanated from a user’s hand, overloading the vision of and temporarily blinding those nearby.
Mind Trick: (**) Also known as Force Persuasion. Mind trick is a power that allows the user to subtly change the targets thought process through audible suggestion. It should be noted that individuals of strong will can be resistant to this power, the same can be said of some species.
Force healing: (**) Allowed the user to call upon the Force to accelerate the healing process and rapidly heal wounds. It is believed that those of the Dark Side found it difficult to use this power thought it’s never been proven. Many simply believe they prefer a means of healing their wounds that causes pain to others.
Force Speed: (**) Allows the user to push their body’s dexterity to its limits moving faster than would ordinarily be possible. With more training stronger users can enhance their speed to the point that their movements are mere blurs.
Force Jump: (**) Allows the user to use the Force to propel themselves in the desired direction, thus greatly extending the usual distance of a jump or leap.
Prerequisite: Precognition
Force Bubble: (***) This created a Shimmering blue globe of energy around the user that could provide protection from all manner of attacks both of energy and physical. The user could also employ the Bubble around their enemy causing his attacks to rebound inside the Bubble.
Force Bellow: (***) A force power in which the user could amplify their voice to tremendous proportions. Ithorian Jedi were known to cause massive damage to their surrounding environment with the power.
Force Armor: (***) Allowed the user to employ the Force to create a defensive aura around themselves that. The aura had the ability to lessen the effects of some Force powers as well as stop some lesser powers all together. It was primarily used against offensive powers.
Force Sight: (***) Allows a user to use the Force to sense, and see through their minds eye, areas through physical boundaries. More advanced users can gather a more detailed picture of an area.
Force Comprehension: (***) The ability to absorb massive amounts of information very rapidly by speeding up the user’s neural processes. The user must comprehend at least a basic knowledge of the topic their wishing to learn. It was also known to cause strong emotions so many Jedi avoided it.
Psychometry: (****) Allowed the user to touch an inanimate object and seemingly see fleeting images of its past as if they were there at the time of the event. However, this was made much more difficult if the object had used by several different individuals. One in every one hundred Kiffar were born with this power, and even then it was still an extremely rare ability. In other races the power is extremely rare.
Force Absorb: (****) Allows the user to absorb the energy from offensive spells such as Force Lightning and Force Push. The user could use this energy to strengthen their connection to the Force or in some cases, reflect the energy back towards their adversary.
Crucitorn: (****) This was a Jedi technique used for transcending physical pain beyond any normal threshold.
Levitation: (****) This power allowed the user to suspend themselves or otherwise cause their body to hover above the ground. Stronger users could hover both higher and longer.
Prerequisite: Telekinesis
Force Suppression: (****) This allowed the user to attack the will of the target and thus cancel out most minor Force Powers.
Personality:
Aran is something an oddity among Jedi, he will be the first to press for war, and the first man in the front lines whenever possible. However should he be told not to fight at all. He would be completely content with this. He is even much like many Jedi outside of battle, being in a state of relative peace at almost all times. Never yelling but most of the time speaking with a stern voice and commanding tones. Aran firmly believes that the order of the Jedi should not shirk from a fight. Believing it their duty to uphold peace through the swiftest ways possible. This being most of the time combat. It should not be said however that he is a war monger. He merely believes that when a war begins. The Jedi order should be involved with it so as to make absolutely sure peace will reign at the end of it. Although Aran, while holding this personal belief, is still completely loyal to the Jedi order. He would not ever think to disobey them, or a direct order from them. Having long since, run out of the hot blood of youth and rebellion.
When interacting with others, Aran while appearing stern and hardened. Is actually quite merciful and generous towards most. Respecting all forms of life, even those of his enemies. But not foolishly so. If an enemy were to request mercy, but was not properly subdued and or incapacitated. Then he would continue to fight until either he was, or he had died. However this is only really so with Sith, who are a threat to him. He does not enjoy taking life but does not resent himself for it either.
Aran lives out the code of the Jedi very well. The natural air of stoicism, yet heroics fitting him perfectly. He agrees very much so that emotions can be dangerous. Especially such things as fear, and hatred. He also has no qualms about love being classified as dangerous as well. For as indeed, it can be. Love can be blinding, and lead to the abandonment of logic. Love can also tie you down, if it's concentrated to much in one area. It might very well stop you from doing the most good you could in a situation to favor your own selfish gain, this being possibly to preserve the things that you so desperately love. Which is not the way of the Jedi. Being that it is not the way to greatest good. What is however, is a mutual and total love for all things. Which also helps lead him closer to serenity. Which is truly one of his ultimate goals.
So in short. Aran is a faithful Jedi whom is unique in his beliefs that when war comes the best way to follow the path of peace is to join it, and hit as hard as one can so as not to prolong the conflict. This being said, Aran can easily begin to meditate, and just as easily strike someone down if the situation calls for it. However like most Jedi he is very prone towards mercy.
Aran prefers to keep all of his equipment well checked and well maintained. This being mainly just his clothes and his lightsaber but nonetheless his possessions and tools. He follows an almost military lifestyle. Preferring to put himself through a strict regime in order to keep his body in shape, and his wits sharp. This military like code of conduct is very noticeable to the young padawans and various other student's around him. As he will but not harshly so. Try to instill in them as much of the same style of thinking as he believes they need. However knowing that such a lifestyle as this is not exactly perfectly in tune with the force. He does not go overboard with the strict disciplines that he attempts to instill in the younglings, and even recommends taking a few breaks here and there to work on controlling their emotions and finding peace. Thus like in everything that he does. He attempts to find a balance. Between two things. For even to much of a good thing can be deadly, even more so sometimes than something obviously bad.
This balance which he tries to find. He sees as nearly the goal of his entire life. He wants to find a balance between war and peace, Caring about everyone but not being tied down or being blinded by said love. Working to keep himself sharp, relaxing to keep himself calm. Aran would not describe this as a struggle in his life. But merely that he is slowly carving out the stream of his life. Smoothing the edges of his mind and heart so that his existence may flow freely. An erosion of sorts, that will be constantly but not forcibly pushing him towards serenity. He is already a good deal on this path. But like most people has not completely and utterly perfected it yet. Although he hopes to one day.
History:
Aran was born to two human parents on the planet Dantooine. A few years down the road, when he was a little bit older. Having been living as a normal farmer for a while. His blood was tested for it's Midi Chlorian count. It was indeed very high. When the Jedi came to talk to him and see if he would like to join them, he readily and quickly said yes. Having never imagined that he would have been able to become a Jedi himself. But always dreaming of the opportunity. Soon after joining he rose to the top of his class as he quickly and easily gained and understood the knowledge bestowed upon him. During the course of his early training and even his knighthood he became very good friends with one. Quan Inhido. Whom he developed a healthy rivalry with all throughout his younger years. Until they both achieved the rank of knight in which case they became great partners and were able to accomplish some of the most dangerous and complicated tasks set before them by the Jedi council.
For the most part during Aran's training. He was apprenticed to Grandmaster Urias Ganavin. From the skilled instructor he learned very much. Not only in the ways of the force and the lightsaber but also in the ways of the Jedi themselves. He came to fulness of comprehension about what a Jedi is and what his purpose was, under the tutelage of the Master Urias. Even before the beginning of his apprenticeship to Master Urias he was training in learning how to be a pilot. But did not gain very much noteworthy skill until the near end of his apprenticeship with the Master. Piloting being in no way his strong suite.
However during the Mandalonian wars. A great problem occurred during one of their battles in which Aran and Quan had been sent to fight in some far off region of the galaxy. The battle itself went well, until Quan got to far ahead of the army they were fighting with and was eventually lost and presumed dead after not having been found for a week. Though at the end of the seventh day he had been lost he returned bruised, bloodied, and weaponless to the camp. Upon being questioned about what happened he responded that he had been captured and managed to escape. That was all anybody made of it. Happy to have one of their Jedi back, especially Aran. But in the next battle and every battle after that. It seemed that Quan was growing more and more ruthless, more merciless, almost as if he was enjoying the killing. Around this time Aran began to see him less and less. Until one day on the battle field. Him and Quan were alone. An extremely powerful blast of force knocked the exhausted Aran unconscious. He awoke to the sound of two men talking, one of them Quan, the other a Dark Jedi. They did not know that he was awake and so he played 'dead'. Or rather unconscious. He heard them discussing Quan's betrayal of the Jedi and when he would grab, then leave with the information pertaining to their battle plans for the near future. He also heard the Dark Jedi wanting to kill him, but Quan saying that he would eventually be able to turn him to the dark side as well. The Dark Jedi relented and he lived. Quan then finished with this talk walked over to him and attempted to revitalize him with the force. Aran pretended to awaken from an unconscious state and was told by Quan that he had nearly died fending off a Dark Jedi
Aran did not argue with him, and bid his time before making a move against him. Which would happen in three days. Aran waited outside of the temporary base the Jedi's had made on this waring planet and soon after he saw running out of the building with an informational disk in his hand. Quan. Whom upon seeing him did not recognize him as he was wearing his brown cloak and had the hood over his head covering his face in shadow. Quan pulled out a red lightsaber and made to cut him down. But Aran at this time flipped down his hood and revealed his saddened face. He asked him why he had done this? What happened to him when he was captured? And why he hadn't killed him when he had the chance. Or rather the many chances. He responded that when he was captured he dualed with an extremely powerful Dark Jedi. Whom almost effortless beat him. But rather than killing him he kept him alive to torture him. However sensing the desire in his heart to gain this kind of power through whatever means necessary he ceased the torture after only one day and then offered to teach him the ways of the dark side which he readily accepted. Since then he had been proving his loyalty by betraying the Jedi at each battle and while fighting with them was continuously sharing information about their planes with him. Then finally tonight he would completely join the Dark Jedi with this ultimate betrayal. Only coming back to convince him to join the Dark Jedi, and together gain enough power to subdue the world and force it into peace wither it wanted to or not.
Aran immediately refused and pulling out his lightsaber he began a fight with Quan. Quan had grown confidant and powerful but reckless. Aran managed to sever one of his limbs and then rebounded one of his force attacks against him. Killing him.
The other Jedi made their way towards them. Aran answered all of their questions in his normal tone and even seemed peaceful at the time. Not showing signs of being upset over this immediately.
Before Aran left the premises. He took Quan's lightsaber. When he was finally back in his room. He took it apart and pulled out the rare crystal inside of it. A Rubat crystal which had once been in Quan's green lightsaber had been added to this red lightsaber, and tainted with the Dark side. Aran knew exactly where hey had retrieved this. Upon one of their quests as newly knighted Jedi. Him and Quan were sent to a hostile planet to attempt to investigate the disturbances in the area. Normally two Jedi knights would not be sent to do such a menial task but the rumors that abounded the area were filled with the claims of an ethereal, and evil presence. There were also whispers of a lightsaber bearing colors darker than a moonless sky. Aran was however skeptical of the legitimacy of these words but orders were orders. Indeed during their travels to the planet they discovered a Sith apprentice whom they were forced to kill. Upon finding his hide out however. They noticed a store of crystals that could be used for Lightsaber manufacture. These were probably what the Sith apprentice was going to take back to his master as his final test per say. Most of all the crystal's recovered were given to the Jedi order. All except the Rubat. Which was given to the two of them as a reward for their success. Aran already having received a new lightsaber for his knighthood gave the crystal to Quan.
That long fellowship was now lost. Though now that he had thought about. Quan had always been more ambitious than what was good for him. He had also never had a very good sense of the ends not justifying the means. Taking the crystal out before he gave to lightsaber to the order. He spent a long span of time purifying it from the dark side which had tainted it during Quan's long process of betrayal until it was finally usable. The same crystal is now inside of Aran's lightsaber and it is more precious to him than the actually weapon itself.
During some of the last days of the Mandalorian wars. Aran now being the highest ranking commander on the battlefields themselves. Found himself away from the rest of his forces and surrounded by the enemy whom were firing heavily at him with rippers. For the moment Aran had found small cover in the forest but the enemies were approaching fast. He used telekinesis to take off a powerful explosive from the belt of one of his dead enemies whom got a little to close to him. Then setting a time for twenty seconds he ran as far as he could away from the device while his enemies seeing him vulnerable surged forward quickly. Aran puled out his lightsaber and began deflecting bolt's once more stopping the enemies in their tracks. He was nearly over run, and a second away from death. But then the explosive went off, and his enemies were completely destroyed. Although Aran used a force bubble to help shield himself from the blow. He was to exhausted to keep it up long enough to stop all of the shrapnel that flew in his direction. One of them, a burning metal piece from a ripper. Scraped itself across the bridge of Aran's nose. Forever leaving where it had struck him. A jagged, long scar. After this scar was acquired and when Aran knelt on the ground bloodied and wounded he felt the barrel of a gun pressed against his forehead. Aran's eyes barley had time to turn before he saw his smirking enemy tighten his grip on his weapon. Only to stop and fall to the ground as his allies caught up with him and slew him from afar with their rifles.
Aran would he ever admit that having to kill Quan bothered him. However since that day, Aran has always seemed just a little bit more weathered, a little harder, and a lot more callous.
Though his apprentice Misha A'kuze was rumored to have dimmed this somewhat grim Change in Aran over the years. If this is true or not, only Aran himself might know. But what is certainly a fact is that after her apprenticeship to him. In which she mainly focused on mastering lightsaber combat techniques much like her master. But also branching out into the force. He has been seen visiting her regularly and checking up on her general well being as well as occasionally helping to instruct the children at the temple whom she is teaching to use a lightsaber. She will commonly be seen hitting him if he asks to much of the younglings or gets to strict with them. Even though he will commonly about her lack of discipline. He does little to actually punish her for it.
